About

Roy Kern.

Roy Kern writes suspense, thrillers, mysteries, comics, middle-grade adventures, and speculative fiction centered on pressure, secrecy, consequence, and the choices people make when everything familiar begins to fracture.

The author

Roy Kern writes character-driven fiction shaped by secrets, pressure, and consequence. His stories explore what people hide, what loyalty costs, and what happens when the systems people trust begin to fail them.

A former restaurant manager and actor, Roy brings a strong sense of pacing, emotional tension, and human conflict to his work. His fiction is built around buried truths, strained relationships, institutional pressure, and the breaking points that reveal who people really are.

Whether writing suspense, espionage thrillers, mystery, comics, middle-grade adventure, or large-scale speculative fiction, Roy focuses on momentum, atmosphere, motive, and emotional fallout. His stories are designed to pull readers forward while leaving them with the feeling that every secret has a cost.

What I write

I write fiction driven by tension, secrets, discovery, and hard choices. My work ranges from espionage thrillers and suspense to comics, science fiction, and younger-reader adventures, but the center is always character: people under pressure, people chasing truth, and people discovering what they are willing to protect.

Why I write

I’m drawn to stories about what people conceal, what they protect, and what happens when those protections fail. The characters I write are often forced into moments where trust fractures, the past resurfaces, and survival demands more than they thought they could give.
